Press release: New Book Lifts Veil and Puts Faith in Perspective
While I was writing Escape the Hezbollah I went through many trials and oppositions. It was almost as though something was trying to stop me from writing it or from releasing it. However, I also went through many miracles -- coincidences that really set the scene for the completion of the book and even for the publishing of it.
Over the years I've learned to recognize that those coincidences, dreams and the prophecies that are spoken from the lips of others might well be coming from God. How do we know when something comes from God, though, and not from our own will or works. In my life I have peace when it comes from God and when I check with what the Bible says about the specific situation, I can always find a similar incident that confirms wether or not it (the coincidence, dream or prophecy spoken by others) is from God.
Now, I'm not saying that I'm so cleaver as to know when everything comes from our Lord. Sometimes I feel one way is better and then I come to learn that another way would be more in line with God's word. There are many people out there who are great at conning and manipulating our thinking. They are so good, that we are confused even though we know what's right. Now when I'm confused about a situation I turn to counsel from the wise people (pastors, true followers of Christ and missionaries) in my life. If we know ourselves, admit our faults and can seek wise counsel we have a better idea of what the truth is.
When I write, I pray that God controls my writing and doesn't allow me to get in the way but does guide me to write what He would have me to write. In other words, I release my will, my pride, my problems and my own judging to Him. In this way I hope and expect that my life is guided by His will and not my own -- all things come together for good to those who are in Christ Jesus (Isa al Masih, Yeshua Machiach) and who are called according to His purpose.
Joseph Rabbani, the main hero of Escape the Hezbollah, eventually learned that his life was completely in God's hands and no matter what he saw or experienced, God was always in control.
Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
That's all I have for today. Please leave comments, your POV, encouragement, or questions.
