People Helping People –– What a Concept!
Thursday, August 13 2009, 11:01 AM EDT
This concept of people helping people is now being being played out in a TV show called, The Philanthropist. It's a good show––but it totally leaves out God's grace, mercy and presence. In fact, I saw an episode where the philanthropist (based on the life of Bobby Sager), played by James Purefoy, actually insinuates that religion is to blame for the world's problems.
Those of us who know, understand that those who fanatically twist God's word are the ones who cause the problem. They seem to overlook the verses where Jesus commands us to love. Jesus came to seek and save the lost and even laid down His life for all the people of the world. In other words, God incarnate actually bought our freedom from the horrific sins caused by man's poor judgment.
Now, if we all follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, there would not be a need for Bobby Saeger's philanthropy. In fact, we would all be philantropists of a sort. Jesus taught us to care for each other and love even our enemies. If we truly had love for each other that love could and would stop suffering around the world––that is, if everyone would participate.
What the philanthropist does not do is give any credit to God for any good that happens. He even puts all religions in the same category as if each religion had a Christ who died for their sins. I know many prophets did teach love, but only one fully showed us love. So why is there sin and suffering in the world? Well, God's love is so perfect that He won't take our free will away from us. You figure it out!
Since I need to promote my new book with these blogs, suffice to say that in Escape the Hezbollah Joseph discovers a fringe of that particular kind of love coming at times from people he would have considered an enemy.
That's all I have for today.
Blessings,
Pola

John:34-35 34A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
