Who He Is To You

It just dawned on me after speaking to a friend that there are people out there who believe in Jesus and believe that He even died for our sins – they just don’t grasp the entire revelation of who Jesus really is. He’s not just some guy who was without sin and who martyred himself for our sins. How can an ordinary guy, no matter how sinless he is bridge the huge chasm that is between us in our fleshly, sinful ways and God? Isaiah says that our best is like filthy rags. Isaiah 64:6 That is the best we humans can ever hope to do. No angel, no mere mortal man, no living creature, could fill the job of getting us close to God.
No works that we do will even get us within vision distance to God, so how could we think that an animal sacrifice will do the job? These are silly scenarios at best. God’s perfectness would disintegrate our bodies. No fasting, no work of any type, no giving, no helping, no praying, no anything can bridge the gap that lies between a perfect God and us. Only human flesh could do that job. But, how? Human flesh is corruptible? Only if God Himself became flesh could this happen.
So who is Jesus (Isa, Yeshua) exactly? How could His particular flesh bridge the gap? The book of John says it all beginning from the first chapter. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. 14 The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, Who came from the Father (Godhead) full of grace and truth.
That’s who Jesus is to you. Only God could become flesh in order for us to have access to Him. Nothing else works.
So, what does this blog have to do with Escape the Hezbollah? Well, to tell you the truth, if everyone knew who Jesus really is deep inside our finite minds, we might not even have a reason for a Hezbollah or any army to keep peace. We would understand the great length that He went through for us to bridge that gap -- realizing His love for us, for our enemies, for our friends and for our family is infinitely more than we can conceive.
I’ve read the end of the book (the Bible) and one day He’ll return in a glorified body. We will be transformed -- every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord of all!
