Fear of True Knowledge? Confused?
Saturday, November 14 2009, 11:36 AM EST
In the world we're told that knowledge is power. In the Bible we're told that the beginning of knowledge is the fear of the Lord. Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
At some point we have to realize that no matter how much knowledge we think we have, if we do not fear God, our knowledge is limited and at best confusing. When our enemies think they are justified and we think we are justified, those who consider themselves to be intelligent, but who are confused, should learn this principle. Fear God, seek His face, seek the truth, learn the truth, and you will have a better understanding of why everyone thinks they are justified, and who really is. Jeremiah 33:3
To put it simply, Al Capone, an American gangster by all standards, killed many people. Capone thought of himself as an ordinary businessman and a family man. His way of settling disputes, however, was to kill. Killing would ultimately solve whatever problem arose––according to him. Whoever got in the way just disappeared. He instilled fear in the lives of anyone who would do business with him.
The Hezbollah and Islamic law causes those under suppression to submit in fear. The strength of Islamic Shiite law is our fear. If fear is allowed to rule, and that fear is not the fear of the Lord, we may easily see and allow many irrational and inappropriate one sided killings. Good looking bad and bad looking good. Hence, honor killings. What kind of honor do these killings give God when human honor is put first? In other words, what kind of honor are we giving God when we fear a person or group more than we fear God?
In Escape the Hezbollah, Joseph was confused when he tried to understand the reasoning behind the horror he faced. Some of you don't even know what Hezbollah is, but you do have a certain fear and respect for this group. Remember, they don't think of themselves as terrorists (as in Al Capone). Hezbollah 101.
Psalm 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To Him belongs eternal praise. Proverbs 9:10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Pray to the God who created us all and fear His ultimate judgment first. Then wisdom will be given to you in dealing with those who put their own honor above honoring God.
That's all I've got for now.
Blessings,
Pola
